Primary Robotics III & IV (AGES 8-9)

Goals of the Program

As a well-known robotics organization in Mississauga, Boswin Robotics has clear goals to develop our students in this age group:

  • The program offers to students between 8 and 9 years old or students who have passed Primary Robotics I & II;
  • Engage students through fun building of different models;
  • Guide students to learn the basic planning of each building project;
  • Structure students to improve communication skills, including presentation and public speaking skills through a structured curriculum
  • Students will have small in-house competitions to have more fun learning

 

Primary Robotics III 

Advancing with Powered Machines: 

With the enhanced knowledge of simple and compound machines, students will build even more complex mechanisms while adding battery-powered motors. Students will have their hand in building the walker, power crane and dragster car. They will learn to estimate and predict their outcomes with scientific experimentation.

They will also be introduced to the major renewable energy resources and understand the applications of pneumatics in leaf life applications.

Primary Robotics IV 

Intro to Programming:

Students will be introduced to the Lego WEDO Robotics platform. Here they will get themselves involved with programming and building. Students will complete the assigned programming challenges, and simulate real-world scenarios such as earthquakes, floods, rescue missions and gaming controllers. They will learn to think outside the box and find solutions to the problems faced by the world by designing their models and providing innovative solutions.

Primary Robotics III & IV – Full Year (once a week): 

      • 6:00 – 7:30 pm, Thursday nights, October 3rd, 2024 to June 12th, 2025
        • Primary Robotics III, Thursday nights, October 3rd, 2024 to January 30th, 2025
        • Primary Robotics IV, February 6th to June 12th, 2025
      • 1:00 – 2:30 pm, Saturday afternoons, October 5th, 2024 to June 14th, 2025
        • Primary Robotics III, October 5th, 2024 to January 25th, 2025
        • Primary Robotics IV, February 1st – June 14th, 2025
